Based on over 140 years of ocean exploration, Royal Huisman is committed to preserve the seas that sustain both its superyacht sector and the world. Recognizing that its actions impact the planet, the shipyard team is dedicating significant time, energy, and resources toward ecological preservation. The Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) vision guides Project Tidal Shift, which seeks to set industry benchmarks in sustainability. During the sales, quotation, and design phases of both new builds and refits, the team proactively presents sustainable options to clients. This approach allows the shipyard to continuously reduce its environmental footprint while educating clients and stakeholders about the benefits of green alternatives.

Royal Huisman’s sustainability efforts reach beyond its walls, involving clients, suppliers, and stakeholders. Various new and existing yachts are designed or rebuild with energy-efficient solutions, and feature eco credentialslike those seen on Ethereal, Elfje, Juliet, Foftein and Sarissa. In practical terms, the shipyard too has made eco-friendly adjustments, including installing electric charging points, adopting a hybrid fleet, using electric forklifts, and implementing motion-sensor LED lighting. Facilities now operate with solar panels, waste separation systems, and reusable materials. In summary, the shipyard’s holistic approach reflects its commitment to integrating sustainability into every level of its business.
