Nilaya was awarded as “Best Sailing Yacht”.

One month ago, the editors of the USA publication of Robb Report magazine selected Nilaya (as well as Royal Huisman’s sportfishyacht, Special One) in their “Best of the Best” edition too. Congratulations to the owners of Nilaya. And this news is obviously a great honor for her design and build team too.

“When the worlds
of marine and
aerospace
engineering
collide,
magic is made”

The Robb Report “Best of the Best” edition is a little black book for all the finer things in life. Printed globally since 1989, it has become a definitive platform awarding the best from the worlds of motoring, horology, luxury travel, yachting, wine, cigars, and more. This year for the first time, the publishers present a bespoke book for the Monaco & Côte d’Azur region, with tailored selections curated by our expert contributors and editors across 13 categories.

The editors at Robb Report Monaco & Côte d’Azur explain in their publication of the latest and the most innovative yachts:

“When the worlds of marine and aerospace engineering collide, magic is made. When Royal Huisman set out to build its first ‘featherlight’ racing yacht in lightweight aluminium, it took inspiration from the European Space Agency. When designing the structure, the Dutch shipyard’s engineers used a computer-modelling tool based on technology from the agency to reduce weight and noise pollution without sacrificing performance. The result is Nilaya, a fast, stylish superyacht for both racing and cruising. On the deck, guests can find three relaxation areas and a beach club, while below deck there’s a saloon for dining and socialising, a full-beam master suite, three guest cabins and a media room.”

It is not easy to be objective about the quality of your own work. Organisations such as the International Superyacht Society, Robb Report, World Superyacht Awards and their expert, independent juries help to provide an unbiased measure of achievement.

Jan Timmerman, CEO of Royal Huisman: “On behalf of our team I would like to say that we are very happy and honoured with these awards. At the same time and although we have received more than a fair share of such recognition, we are not planning to lean back following this success: we will never forget that a shipyard is only as good as its next boat.”
